Jazz Day at PCC

Sat. March 28th, 2020 | 9am-4pm

Clinician Dave Tull at Jazz Day

The Spring 2020 Jazz Day will be held on Saturday, March 28th in the cutting-edge Center for the Arts building on the beautiful PCC campus.

This festival is unique in that it is non-competitive and is designed to get ensembles geared up for the competition season. Scheduled early in the semester, the goal is to help bands fine-tune their performances for later festivals in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere.

Jazz Day will feature expanded offerings compared to previous years. There will be opportunities for High School ensembles to perform in front of a clinician who will work with them following their performance. Additionally, there will be masterclasses and breakout sessions on topics such as improvisation, recording technology, combo performance, as well as instrument-specific sessions on woodwinds, brass, and rhythm section instruments.

Spring 2020 clinicians for the ensemble masterclasses and break out sessions will be chosen from PCC jazz faculty; Brian Carmody, Zac Matthews, Daniel Cole, Dave Tull, Gary Fukushima, Barb Catlin, Jacques Voyemant, Daniel Roseboom, Dave Robaire, Hitomi Oba, Jonathan Richards, Mike Cottone, Mary Durst,
